Capstone Overview 

 

This Capstone project serves as the culminating activity for the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) M.Ed. program. The Masters in Instructional Technology program is an intensive program for professionals in the field of education who wish to expand their knowledge of technology integration as a classroom and professional development tool.  

 

The Capstone project is the final course in the graduate degree program and is designed as a self-directed research project that incorporates all the skills acquired throughout the degree coursework. Students are expected to apply prior knowledge in pedagogy and technical skills by developing and implementing a tech-based solution to an identified learning need in an actual classroom. 

 

This website serves as the portfolio of my Capstone project. The purpose of this project is to address an identified learning issue regarding mastery of fifth grade writing standards as defined by Common Core State Standards (2015). In this project, students will use digital storyboarding to assist with providing explicit details in narrative writing.
